- Hikers get lost on the roads - Firefighters help

Two vacationers from Bavaria got lost near the Königsstuhl on Rügen and caused a police and rescue operation along the island's steep coast. A 27-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man reportedly called the emergency number on Monday evening around 10:30 PM, the police said. As darkness fell, the couple apparently lost their way and couldn't find their way back.

Firefighters escorted tourists back

The vacationers had started their hike at the Königsstuhl, intending to head towards Sassnitz. Police began searching immediately after the call, but the darkness made it challenging.

After some time in the Jasmund National Park, the rescue teams were able to make contact with the couple. Firefighters then managed to reach the pair on the shore and escorted the two tourists back to the Pirate's Cove in Sassnitz.

The police and rescue operation continued until the vacationers were safely located. Upon their rescue, the police ensured the vacationers returned to Pirate's Cove safely.
