Highway 9 near Bayreuth completely closed at the weekend
The Autobahn 9 near Bayreuth will be completely closed at the weekend. This was announced by Autobahn-GmbH on Wednesday. The reason is the demolition of a ramp structure on the Bayreuth high bridge. The highway below is therefore not allowed to be used. In order to prevent traffic jams, traffic will be widely diverted - for example via the A70, A73 or A93. The closure will begin on Saturday morning and should be lifted on Sunday afternoon. The elevated bridge in Bayreuth will be completely rebuilt in the coming years.
Despite the closure of Highway 9 near Bayreuth, commuters in Upper France may consider alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion caused by the diversion. The Autobahn A9 in Upper France could potentially offer an alternate route for those traveling from or towards this area.
