Incident with aftermath - High damage and criminal proceedings after driving through the meadow

A 69-year-old driver lost control of his car near Miltach in the Bavarian Forest and drove through a field for 100 meters before coming to a stop against a tree. The driver remained uninjured in the accident in Cham district on Sunday afternoon, but the damage to the vehicle was estimated at 100,000 euros by the Bad Kötzting police station on Monday.

The 69-year-old told police that he had been cut off by another driver, causing him to lose control of his vehicle.

Legal Consequences

Regardless of this, the accident will have legal consequences for the 69-year-old: He was found to be intoxicated by a breath test, and police ordered a blood test at the hospital. The man resisted so much that the police officers had to restrain him.

The man is now under investigation for driving under the influence and resisting arrest. The Kötzting police station is appealing for witnesses who observed the accident or have information about the second driver.

Despite the damage estimated at 100,000 euros, the 69-year-old driver decided to drive his car to the nearby garage for repairs. Despite resisting arrest, the man will still need to arrange for a new vehicle as his car is likely to be impounded due to the driving under influence charges.
