Society - Hesse's state government invites pupils from Israel

The state government will invite students from Israel affected by terror and war to Hesse this winter. The group of 15 to 20 people will probably be guests at the Carl-von-Weinberg School in Frankfurt for around ten days in January or February, the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs in Wiesbaden announced on Wednesday.

Among other things, the young people will be able to take part in sports activities and, if necessary, receive psychological counseling - a reception in the state parliament is also planned. "At a time when hatred of Jews is once again becoming socially acceptable, we are obliged to take action against all forms of anti-Semitism. Our offer is aimed at children and young people who are particularly affected by the terror of Hamas," said Hesse's Minister President Boris Rhein (CDU).
