Leisure time - Hessentag: Fritzlar celebrates with pop singers and rockers
Next year's Hessentag in Fritzlar (Schwalm-Eder district) will be celebrated with a colorful program. The highlights of the state festival under the motto "A town full of life" include performances by pop singer Matthias Reim, the shanty rockers from Santiano, metal singer Doro Pesch and comedian Paul Panzer, as the town in northern Hesse announced on Tuesday. Among others, singer Ben Zucker and entertainer Micki Krause have also announced their attendance. Further program items are to be announced next year.
The 61st Hessentag will be held in Fritzlar from May 24 to June 2, 2024. In November, the city announced that the state festival would be smaller than originally planned for cost reasons. The so-called Hessentag Arena, which was supposed to seat around 15,000 visitors for large concerts, is to be dispensed with. The state government recently rejected a request from the town for more money to host the event. According to its own figures, this year's Hessentag in Pfungstadt resulted in a deficit of more than ten million euros for the town in southern Hesse.
