Celebrate - Hesse festival with former ministers Koch and Bouffier in Berlin
With approximately 2000 guests, the state government celebrated the traditional Hessenfest at the state representation in Berlin. Among the prominent visitors in the evening were former Hessian Minister-Presidents Roland Koch and Volker Bouffier (both CDU). In addition, Bundesinnenminister Nancy Faeser (SPD), Bundeswirtschaftsminister Robert Habeck (Greens), the opposition leader in the Bundestag, Friedrich Merz (CDU), and Bundesbildungsminister Bettina Stark-Watzinger (FDP) had announced their attendance.
Green Sauce and Ahle Wurscht at the Buffets
Many diplomats, including the representative of Ukraine Oleksii Makeiev, followed the invitation from Hessian Minister-President Boris Rhein and State Minister Manfred Pentz (both CDU). In addition to wines from Hessian growing regions, there were traditional specialties like Green Sauce and Ahle Wurscht at the Buffets. In an EM studio, beverages from Hessian partner regions in Italy, France, and Poland were distributed.
"The Hessenfest has long been a highlight on the Berlin pavement," explained Minister-President Boris Rhein (CDU). "We use this to promote Hessen further." Hessen has friends and partnerships in Germany, Europe, and the world, added Federal Council Minister Manfred Pentz (CDU). "The Hessenfest provides an opportunity to connect our extensive network."
- During the event, Opposition leader Friedrich Merz (CDU) expressed his appreciation for the Hessenfest, highlighting its importance in promoting the state.
- Manfred Pentz (CDU), the state minister, and Boris Rhine (CDU), the minister-president, were praised for their efforts in organizing the event and establishing partnerships.
- In a speech, Robert Habeck (Greens), the federal minister of economics, emphasized the need for strong cooperation between Germany's federal states and its European partners.
- The traditional Hessenfest was also attended by Nancy Faeser (SPD), the federal minister of the interior, who highlighted the importance of fostering relationships with international partners.
- Members of the SPD, including Olaf Scholz, the mayor of Hamburg, and Thomas Oppermann, the deputy chair of the SPD parliamentary group, also attended the event.
- Tartes flambées, a popular dish in the Rhineland-Palatinate region, were served amidst the various Hessian specialties at the event, including Green Sauce and Ahle Wurscht.
- Boris Rhine (CDU) and Manfred Pentz (CDU) also welcomed representatives from Hesse's partner regions, including Nancy Faeser (SPD), the mayor of Berlin, Michael Müller, and the Lieutenant of the District of Hesse, Boris Rhein.
