DFB Cup - Hertha's Dardai on the HSV comparison: "Don't cry foul"

Hertha coach Pal Dardai is not complaining that Hamburger SV have more recovery time ahead of the DFB Cup round of 16 clash between the two teams. "I've already said I won't be crying," said the Hungarian at Monday's press conference ahead of the cup clash in Berlin on Wednesday (20:45/Sky). HSV had already played the derby against St. Pauli (2:2) on Friday evening. Hertha were still in action on Sunday against Elversberg (5:1).

"There's not enough time to fully recover," said Dardai. "Nevertheless, we're a bit lucky. We play at home, we sleep at home."

The Blue & Whites may also have captain Toni Leistner available against Hamburg. "He'll train with us tomorrow, including a small game form. Then we'll talk," said the coach. However, it might be better not to bring Leistner back until he is fully fit, said Dardai. In the league game at Kaiserslautern on Saturday, the Hungarian sees a greater need for rotation anyway.

In the win against Elversberg, after an extremely weak first half, several changes by Dardai brought a better performance in the second half. Marton Dardai moved to central defense, Deyovaisio Zeefuik to the center of midfield and Michal Karbownik to the left wing. "It could be that we start the same way we finished," said the 47-year-old about the game against HSV.
