2nd league - Hertha face Elversberg for the first time at the end of the year

Hertha BSC start the final spurt of the last three games in the second soccer league until Christmas with a debut. On Sunday, Hertha coach Pal Dardai's team will face SV Elversberg for the first time on matchday 15 at Berlin's Olympiastadion (1.30pm/Sky). With the aim of moving closer to the promotion places by Christmas, the tenth-placed Berliners are under pressure to win against the promoted side from Saarland, who are in sixth place with 24 points.

Dardai will probably have to do without captain Toni Leistner, who is suffering from an injury. There is also a question mark over fellow defender Linus Gechter, meaning that the trained defender Pascal Klemens could be withdrawn from the six-man position into central defense.

After the match against Elversberg, the Berliners must travel to 1. FC Kaiserslautern before the home match against the next promoted team, VfL Osnabrück, on December 16 to conclude the first half of the season. Hertha will then start at home against Fortuna Düsseldorf on January 21, 2024.
