DFL General Meeting - Hertha BSC voted against the entry of investors

Second-division soccer club Hertha BSC is one of the ten clubs that did not vote in favor of the planned entry of an investor into the German Football League (DFL ). "Hertha BSC would have liked the process to be viewed holistically, from infrastructure to sustainability," read a statement from the club in response to a request from Deutsche Presse-Agentur. The vote at the DFL general meeting on Monday was held in secret. The much-discussed motion received the required two-thirds majority with 24 votes in favor. Two clubs abstained from voting.

Like local rivals Union Berlin, Hertha would have liked more time before a vote was taken, as the club would also have liked to have examined alternatives: "Financing from our own resources or a model with an alliance partner would also have deserved a chance to be checked for feasibility. In addition, it is not foreseeable today whether the financial requirements are sufficient to achieve the goals."
