German First Division League - Hellmann testifies at Bobic and Hertha's trial.
In an ongoing legal battle between Hertha BSC and ex-managing director Fredi Bobic, Hamburger SV sports administrator Axel Hellmann from Eintracht Frankfurt is set to give testimony on Monday. According to a court representative from the German Press Agency, this information applies to the 52-year-old Hesse board member. Both Bobic and Hertha interim president Fabian Drescher were present at the Berlin Regional Court.
Hertha and Bobic are locked in a dispute over his termination in 2023. A partial verdict was handed down in February, dismissing Bobic's wrongful termination claim. However, the main issue remains the unlawful termination without notice. If it is deemed invalid, Bobic would be entitled to a contractually agreed severance payment from the club.
The court previously announced that a witness, whose name it did not mention beforehand, would be questioned about whether Bobic disclosed confidential information. This suspicion stems partly from the reason Hertha exercised its extraordinary dismissal.
As Judge Astrid Zilm stated in February, someone had allegedly provided Hertha with knowledge that Bobic had shared confidential documents with Mr. Hellmann.
