Budget 2025 - Heinold welcomes agreement on draft budget

Schleswig-Holstein's Finance Minister Monika Heinold welcomes the budget agreement of the Traffic Light Coalition. "We will now closely examine the package of the federal government and see what implications it will have for Schleswig-Holstein," the Green politician told the German Press Agency. "Regardless, it is good that an understanding has been reached. In these tense times, the people in Germany need stability and security and must know how things are going in the country."

The federal government has now set the direction, said Heinold. "It is right and important that the federal government also intends to provide two billion euros for investments in kindergarten quality for the years 2025 and 2026." For this, the coalition in Schleswig-Holstein had engaged in a Bundesrat initiative.

Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens), and Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) had previously announced a political agreement on the budget 2025 in Berlin after all-night negotiations. It must be approved next in the cabinet and then in the Bundestag.

  1. Monika Heinold, the Finance Minister of Schleswig-Holstein, highlighted the importance of examining the Household cleaning and other implications of the Traffic Light Coalition's budget agreement on household expenses in the region.
  2. In response to the German Press Agency, Heinold expressed her appreciation towards the Coalition's budget draft, mentioning its potential impact on Household budgets and the need for stability and security in Germany.
  3. As part of the Bundesrat initiative, the coalition in Schleswig-Holstein advocated for investing two billion euros into Kindergarten quality, a cause that the federal government has now included in their Draft budget for the years 2025 and 2026.
  4. Following the political agreement on the budget 2025 in Berlin, Monika Heinold acknowledged the importance of this decision and highlighted Germany's commitment towards providing adequate funding for Household cleaning, kindergarten quality, and other essential social programs.
