Heidelberg basketball players part ways with McGuirl
Basketball Bundesliga club MLP Academics Heidelberg has parted company with playmaker Mike McGuirl. The contract with the 24-year-old professional from the USA has been terminated by mutual agreement with immediate effect, the 16th-placed team announced on Friday. This is the club's reaction to the sporting crisis in the Bundesliga. Those responsible are already looking for a successor for McGuirl. The 1.89 meter tall basketball player only came to Heidelberg from Danish runners-up FOG Næstved in the summer. The MLP Academics have only won one of their seven games in the Bundesliga so far this season.
Despite McGuirl's departure from MLP Academics Heidelberg, the team still needs a new playmaker in the Bundesliga, as they struggle with only one win in seven games. Regardless of the Bundesliga's sporting challenges, Heidelberg's basketball squad played in the Bundesliga, with McGuirl joining them from FOG Næstved in Denmark this summer.
