Current Weather Conditions - Hefty rainfalls and thunderstorms anticipated during the weekend.
Coming weekend in Germany: Expect showers, thunderstorms, and temps around 20°C in many regions. Southern areas have an increasing risk of heavy rain, says meteorologist Tanja Egerer of DWD in Offenbach. There are some uncertainties though. However, the south will undoubtedly be stormy.
"Solid thunderstorms and hefty showers south of the Danube could begin this weekend and on Sunday," Egerer explained on Thursday. Nevertheless, these are local weather occurrences. By Sunday and Monday, the likelihood for widespread hefty rain increases. "But that's not what we witnessed during the weekend before last," she added.
Friday's weather is forecasted to be similar to Thursday's: Northern regions see rain showers with temps between 15-20°C. The south may also experience rain per DWD. The skies above the intermediary area, meaning "in the middle," display a combination of clouds and sunshine, being predominantly dry. Temperatures range from 20-24°C in this region, while the south sees slightly summery temps of 24-26°C.
Saturday's forecast: DWD predicts cloudy skies with showery rain in northern and southern parts of the Main, together with strong thunderstorms featuring heavy rain and minor weather events in the south. In-between, the weather will be sunny to cloud-filled and dry. Temps in the northwest will increase to 16-20°C, elsewhere they span 20-26°C.
On Sunday, skies south of the Main will be cloudy or heavily clouded with stormy conditions, presenting showers and thunderstorms - accompanied by localized heavy rain and minor weather events. The northern areas will feel cooler, with temps between 15-20°C, while the rest of Germany's temperatures will range from 20-25°C.
