Meteorological conditions - Hefty downpours and powerful thunderstorms turn out not as intense as anticipated.
Germany's Weather Service (DWD) warned about rain showers and thunderstorms in the southern parts of a free state on Sunday night. Meteorologists had projected a heavy downpour with up to 40 liters of rain per square meter along the Alps' edge. A representative from the Flood Forecasting Service (HND) mentioned that the rainfall was milder than anticipated. Nonetheless, there were still slight surges in some Danube tributaries and the Danube itself.
On Monday, the DWD forecasted heavy and protracted rain in the south and southeast of Bavaria first thing in the morning. However, these showers should lessen throughout the day. In the evening, there might be increasing rain in Lower Franconia. Except for that, meteorologists expect a mix of sunshine and clouds. The temperatures will be slightly lower, ranging from 16-23 degrees. On Tuesday, the Alpine region and southeast could experience some light rain. Although it'll be cooler at 12 to 18 degrees, the skies will be mostly cloudy but dry elsewhere. On Wednesday, the DWD estimated light rain in the Alpine region and southeast, with periodic sunshine.

The District of Weilheim-Schongau, located in Bavaria's Swabia, experienced relatively light rainfall during the predicted thunderstorms, as per the DWD's records. Despite the milder weather condition, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, another renowned location in Bavaria's Alps, reported some precipitation. The DWD predicts similar weather patterns for Ulm, Munich, and Augsburg in the coming days, with a mix of sunshine and clouds, interspersed by occasional thunderstorms. However, they assure that the intensity will not reach the levels originally forecasted by the DWD.
