Gunsmith - Heckler & Koch invites shareholders to a meeting

Germany's largest manufacturer of handguns, Heckler & Koch, invites shareholders to the annual meeting on Tuesday (10:00 am) in Rottweil. In a former gunpowder factory that is now used as an event venue, the company's CEO, Jens Bodo Koch, answers questions from shareholders. The majority shareholder is a Luxembourg financial holding company named CDE, whose court dispute with another shareholder over influence on the company is still ongoing.

Heckler & Koch survived the crisis years of the past decade, with sales increasing significantly from 2018 onwards, and the company wrote the best business year in its history in 2022. In 2023, sales remained around 300 million Euros, but profits declined significantly. The company produces assault rifles, machine guns, grenade launchers, and pistols. It employs around 1100 people, about 1000 of whom are based at the headquarters in Oberndorf in the Black Forest. Among the competitors are C.G. Haenel from Thuringia, FN from Belgium, and Beretta from Italy.

The annual general meeting of Heckler & Koch, Germany's prominent defense industry player, will take place in Rottweil, a city in the Baden-Württemberg region. This meeting is of significant importance, as shareholders, including major stakeholders such as CDE from Luxembourg, will have the opportunity to engage with the company's CEO, Jens Bodo Koch. Despite a slight dip in profits in 2023, the renowned manufacturer of handguns like the P30, continues to thrive in the competitive defense industry, facing competition from companies like C.G. Haenel, FN, and Beretta.
