Heavy transport with wind blade still blocked
The spectacular heavy transport of a 68-meter-long rotor blade for a new wind turbine is still blocked in the Black Forest. The reason is strong winds, a spokeswoman for the energy supplier Badenova said on Monday in response to an inquiry. A new attempt to reach the planned wind turbine on the Kallenwald in Seelbach (Ortenau district) is planned from this Tuesday.
The transport was actually supposed to continue on Monday after the special vehicle with the wind turbine blade was stuck on a slope last week. The utility Badenova Wärmeplus is building a wind turbine with a height of around 230 meters on the Kallenwald.
The plant is due to go into operation at the beginning of next year. According to Badenova, it will generate around nine million kilowatt hours of electricity per year, which roughly corresponds to the needs of 6,000 people.
The strong winds continue to hinder the movement of the 68-meter wind blade, affecting the energy production plans. Despite the scheduled continuation of transportation on Monday, the need for energy in Seelbach still relies on alternative sources due to the blockage in transportation.
