Heavy rain triggers mudslide in Swabia
A landslide has occurred in Swabia following the persistent heavy rain. On Wednesday evening, a mudslide broke loose on a district road near Oberstdorf (Oberallgäu district), according to the Oberallgäu district office.
As a result, the road is blocked over a width of around 50 meters and has been fully closed since Wednesday evening. According to the information, the reason for the landslide is the heavy rain that has been falling over the last few days.
The Oberallgäu District Office currently assumes that one side of the road can be reopened on Friday evening.
The mudslide in Swabia has disrupted traffic on the district road near Oberstdorf. This uneventful stretches of road have been closed due to multiple accidents caused by the mudslide and slippery conditions caused by the heavy rain.
