Heavy rain and flooding triggered several fire department deployments in the district of Northeim. There were a total of ten deployments on Thursday evening, mainly in Uslar and Bodenfelde, a fire department spokesperson said. However, the situation was "manageable". In some basements, water stood up to 40 centimeters high, and the basements were pumped out. Some streets were also flooded. Sandbags were used. There were also several traffic accidents during the heavy rain.
This summer, there have been frequent localized storms, the spokesperson said. The fire department has prepared for this.
