Biker - Heavy bikes, good vibes: Harley Days kicked off
Heavy Machines, buzzing Engines: The Hamburg Harley Days have begun on a Friday. Many motorbike fans were already drawn to the colorful program at the marketplace area in the afternoon. A spokesperson for the German Press Agency stated that the event had gotten off to a good start under the sun. "The mood is good."
A highlight will be the traditional parade on Sunday. It starts at the market and leads along the Veddel, the Hafenrandstraße, and the Köhlbrandbrücke into the heart of the harbor, as the organizers announced. The return journey goes over the Freihafenbrücke through the Hafencity, past the landing bridges and the Fish Market, and over the Reeperbahn to the market. Approximately 5000 motorbike fans participated in the parade last year. Whether it will be the same this year depends heavily on the weather, the spokesperson said.
A total of 19 bands are scheduled to perform on the two stages. Among the honored guests of the event with motorbike fans from all over Europe are former HSV trainer Michael Oenning, actor Till Demtrøder, and TV actor and model Angelo Carlucci. Motorbike riders can take tours in the surrounding area during the Harley Days or test rides.
The stuntmen DOP and Chris Lietsch want to show in their shows what everything is capable of in a Harley, it was reported. In addition, visitors and guests have access to tattoo artists in a large tent during the first Hamburg Tattoo Days at the event. Furthermore, there is a State Grill Championship.
The organizers of the Harley Days, which have been taking place on the marketplace since 2010, reminded motorbike fans to consider the population. In the past, there have always been complaints about noise levels. The environmental organization Nabu called on the red-green Senate to abandon environmentally and climate-damaging large-scale events like the Harley Days.
Program Harley Days
The colorful tents at the marketplace were filled with the sound of music during the Harley Days. The vibrant atmosphere even attracted the attention of a local tattoo artist in Veddel, who was offering his services to enthusiastic attendees. On Sunday, the harbor city transformed into a traffic spectacle with the traditional parade, led by 5000 motorbike fans, as announced by the German Press Agency. Despite the heavy traffic, the fixed route ensured a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
