Weather - Heat, thunderstorms and heavy rain on Thursday

Hot and sweltering weather with temperatures up to 31 degrees and strong thunderstorms is expected in Berlin and Brandenburg on Thursday. The German Weather Service (DWD) once again warns of heat stress.

The day starts sunny, but from midday onwards, there are partial heavy showers and thunderstorms. Meteorologists expect partial heavy rainfall of up to 75 km/h and gusts up to 75 km/h. In some places, hail and rainfall of up to 25 liters per square meter should be expected. In some places, up to 40 liters per square meter could fall within an hour. At night, showers or strong thunderstorms are possible initially, which will subside by midnight. Then fog and mist form. It cools down to 19-17 degrees.

On Friday, temperatures rise again to 26-30 degrees. In the course of the day, thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail again occur. It will be stormy. In the afternoon and evening, the showers move eastwards. In the night to Saturday, the values drop to 15-11 degrees.

The weekend remains summery. On Saturday, it is initially sunny with temperatures up to 31 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms are still possible.
