For the start of the week, residents of North Rhine-Westphalia should seek a shady spot. Temperatures are expected to rise to 29 to 34 degrees Celsius on Monday, according to the German Weather Service (DWD), with temperatures on the mountains reaching 27 degrees. The day will be mostly sunny and dry with light to moderate wind. A cool-down is not expected anytime soon, with a tropical night predicted with temperatures of 20 to 22 degrees.

It's expected to be even warmer on Tuesday, with meteorologists forecasting sultry weather with temperatures between 31 and 35 degrees. According to DWD, there will be showers and occasionally heavy thunderstorms during the day. Locally, severe weather is possible with heavy rain, hail, and gusty winds. It may also rain and thunder at night with temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees.

Wednesday will be cloudy, according to DWD, with sultry and warm weather at 27 to 31 degrees. Rain is expected again during the day, with heavy thunderstorms, heavy rain, and hail possible. Temperatures will drop to 14 to 18 degrees overnight into Thursday.
