Heat deformed railway track closed in Lower Bavaria

When it's too hot, it has effects not just on humans and animals, but even railway tracks in Lower Bavaria are warped. Now bus drivers have to take over.

Heat is affecting a railway line in Lower Bavaria. Over the weekend, significant track deformations occurred on the Waldbahn regional rail line between Gotteszell and Teisnach (Regen district), according to a spokesperson for the regional railway. As the repair is weather-dependent and not expected to be completed until next week, no trains are currently running on the line. Buses have been deployed as a replacement. High summer temperatures, reaching up to 36 degrees Celsius in some areas, have been prevalent across Bavaria for several days.

The high summer temperatures, causing discomfort across Bavaria, are also being blamed for the weather-dependent railway repairs. Unfortunately, the delayed completion of repairs on the Waldbahn regional rail line means travelers will continue to rely on buses as an alternative transport option.
