Weather - Heat and storms with heavy rain expected
People in Lower Saxony and Bremen have to prepare for heavy thunderstorms in the afternoon, after a hot and sultry morning. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), there is a local risk of thunderstorms with heavy rain. Between 40 and 60 liters of water per square meter could fall within a few hours. Hailstones of about two centimeters in size and gusty winds are also possible. However, the risk of thunderstorms is lower in the western part of the federal state.
The temperatures will reach a maximum of 29 to 32 degrees. After the thunderstorms on Thursday, it will be significantly cooler on Friday, with temperatures between 21 and 26 degrees. According to the forecast, there is still a chance of showers in the morning on Friday. However, it should gradually clear up in the afternoon. A predominantly friendly weather is expected for Saturday.
