Heart attack at the wheel: truck driver dies in hospital
A truck driver suffered a heart attack while driving in Möttingen (Donau-Ries district) and died shortly afterwards. As a result of the heart attack, the 58-year-old's articulated truck collided with the car of a 20-year-old woman on Tuesday, according to the police. The truck then hit another car as well as a traffic light and several traffic signs. The truck only came to a halt when it hit a house wall. The 58-year-old was resuscitated, but died shortly afterwards in hospital. The 20-year-old was slightly injured.
Due to the traffic chaos caused by the accident, emergency services in Swabia faced significant challenges in reaching the scene promptly. The incident led to numerous emergency calls regarding traffic situations and accidents in the area.
