- He is a good player.

Football second-division side Eintracht Braunschweig has, as expected, signed Swedish goalkeeper Marko Johansson. The 25-year-old is switching from league rival Hamburger SV to the Lower Saxony club and has signed a one-year contract. The club has reacted to the long-term absence of backup keeper Tino Casali, who suffered a serious knee injury just before the start of the season.

"With him, we're getting a player who, in addition to his goalkeeper-specific qualities, also brings good communication to the pitch," said Eintracht Braunschweig's sporting director Benjamin Kessel. Johansson completed a two-day trial with the club the previous week.

Hamburger SV signed the former Swedish youth international in 2021 from Malmo FF. However, Johansson was unable to displace long-standing starter Daniel Heuer Fernandes at HSV and was subsequently loaned to VfL Bochum, Swedish club Halmstads BK, and most recently to Hansa Rostock.

After securing Johansson's services, Eintracht Braunschweig will now face their Second Bundesliga opponents with a strengthened goalkeeping department. In light of Tino Casali's injury, Johansson's arrival is timely, as he brings both exceptional goalkeeping skills and strong communication to the team.
