Haseloff makes government statement in the state parliament
Against the backdrop of the war in Israel, Minister President Reiner Haseloff (CDU) intends to make a government statement in the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament today, Thursday. The item on the agenda is entitled "Responsibility before history - responsibility for the future: protection and recognition of Jewish life". Parliament will also discuss the citizens' allowance and childcare on Thursday. To ease the burden on parents, the opposition Left Party parliamentary group is calling for a comprehensive reform of the childcare law in Saxony-Anhalt. Parental contributions are to be completely abolished from January 2025. The AfD is also pursuing similar plans.
In light of the ongoing war in Israel, the topic of "Responsibility before history - responsibility for the future: protection and recognition of Jewish life" is set to be discussed in the Parliament by Minister President Haseloff. Despite the pressing issues of citizen's allowance and childcare being on the agenda, the Left Party parliamentary group advocates for a comprehensive reform of the childcare law, aiming to abolish parental contributions by 2025, a proposal also supported by the AfD.
