Haseloff: Discrepancy between successes and perception
Saxony-Anhalt's Minister President Reiner Haseloff (CDU) has lamented the gap between the economic successes since reunification and the perception of many people. "We must ensure that people's level of satisfaction is in line with what has actually been achieved," Haseloff said on MDR television on Thursday. The people who had experienced hard times and upheaval could now be proud to be among the most modern regions in Europe. Haseloff described the success of the AfD in Saxony-Anhalt as a contradiction to reality.
Discussing the discrepancy between achievements and public perception, Haseloff highlighted the need for people's satisfaction to align with the economic successes in Saxony-Anhalt's history. Despite the region's transformation into one of Europe's most modern, the Minister President viewed the success of far-right party AfD as a political contradiction to this reality.
