Auxiliary applications - Hardship cases for heating: An average of 321 euros paid out
Due to the rise in heating costs, 10,770 households in Saxony-Anhalt have applied for federal hardship aid. On average, the households received 321 euros, as announced by the responsible energy ministry in Magdeburg on Friday. Around 76.6 percent of applications were approved. Just under 2000 applications were rejected due to missing documents or requirements, among other reasons.
The vast majority of applications were submitted by owners of oil-fired heating systems. According to the Ministry of Energy, 87 percent of applicants had an oil heating system. Wood pellet systems accounted for 8 percent and liquid gas for 4.5 percent. According to the information, users of wood pellets received significantly higher amounts of aid per approved application.
With the hardship aid, the federal government supports private households that were affected by particularly sharp price increases last year.
