Traffic - Hardly any traffic accidents despite persistent risk of slippery roads
Despite the continuing risk of slippery roads, the traffic situation remained calm on Thursday night. Police spokespersons from the various situation centers in Lower Saxony spoke of a relatively calm situation in the morning. The roads were largely clear and there had been little to no traffic accidents.
The German Weather Service continues to warn of frost and slippery conditions due to frozen slush and freezing rain. Temperatures are expected to fall below zero again, especially at night. Overall, however, the thermometer is expected to rise to up to seven degrees in the coming days. On Friday, the foothills of a storm depression are expected in northern Germany.

The persistent risk of slippery roads due to the weather conditions in Lower Saxony has not resulted in a significant increase in traffic accidents, as evidenced by the calm traffic situation on Thursday night. Despite the warnings from the German Weather Service about frost and slippery roads, the majority of roads in Lower Saxony remained clear, posing a lower risk of traffic accidents. Hanover, like other parts of Lower Saxony, experienced a relatively safe traffic situation, with few to no traffic accidents. However, drivers should remain vigilant, as the forecast calls for a storm depression in northern Germany on Friday, which could potentially increase the risk of traffic accidents due to hazardous weather conditions.
