Weather - Hardly any traffic accidents despite icy conditions and snowfall

Frost and snowfall continue to keep Lower Saxony firmly in their grip at the beginning of the week, but the traffic situation remained calm in large parts of the state on Monday night. Despite persistent icy conditions, it was one of the quietest nights for several days, according to police spokespersons from Lower Saxony on Monday morning. There were only a few weather-related accidents and these did not have any serious consequences.

The German Weather Service is expecting up to five centimetres of fresh snow over the course of Monday with cold temperatures down to minus five degrees. According to current forecasts, the thermometer is not expected to climb above zero degrees again until the middle of the week.
