Soccer - HanseMerkur takes over Wüstefeld shares in HSV Fußball AG
The soccer company of second division club Hamburger SV has been given a new structure. As the club announced on Thursday, HanseMerkur Holding has become a shareholder. The AG's Annual General Meeting on Wednesday evening approved the transfer of shares from CaLeJo GmbH, owned by former board member Thomas Wüstefeld. HanseMerkur, which has been the third-placed team's main sponsor since the start of the 2022/23 season, had already announced the planned acquisition of 5.07% of the AG shares at the end of August.
Wüstefeld had acquired the shares in 2021 from the holding company of HSV patron Klaus-Michael Kühne. The entrepreneur was a member of the AG board from January to September 2022 and then resigned following numerous accusations against him.
