Hansa Rostock reports record sales
FC Hansa Rostock once again reported record figures at its general meeting on Sunday. According to the second-division soccer club, total revenue in the 2022/23 financial year rose to 37.6 million euros. "We were able to increase revenue in ticketing, merchandising and marketing," said CEO Robert Marien in front of 446 members in attendance.
Despite the record turnover, Hansa posted a loss of 500,000 euros for the year. The club management cited provisions for coronavirus repayments, the energy crisis and inflation as well as investments such as the renovation of the pitch heating as the reasons for this.
Thanks to a further special repayment of EUR 1.6 million to investor and shareholder Rolf Elgeti, FC Hansa reduced its total debt to around EUR 11.7 million. This is the lowest level of debt since the stadium renovation in 2001, the club announced.
"We are pleased that we were able to reduce our liabilities once again. However, we must not rest on our laurels and must continue to work together to ensure a positive future," emphasized 42-year-old Marien.
FC Hansa Rostock, currently competing in Bundesliga 2, saw increased revenue from ticketing, merchandising, and marketing, contributing to their record sales during the 2022/23 financial year. Despite this success, the club still recorded a loss of 500,000 euros, with factors such as coronavirus repayments and investments contributing to this shortfall.
