Hanover's handball team win home game against Athens 31:25

The Bundesliga handball team TSV Hannover-Burgdorf remain unbeaten in the preliminary round of the European League and lead Group B with 6:0 points. They won 31:25 (12:14) at home against Greek champions AEK Athens on Tuesday, with U21 world champion Justus Fischer being the best scorer with seven goals. Stipe Mandalinic scored six goals for the visitors.

The club from Lower Saxony initially struggled in offense. TSV only managed four goals in the first 15 minutes. This was also due to the good performance of the visitors' goalkeeper Igor Arsic. The Serbian had already made six saves halfway through the first period. Mandalinic, who played for Füchse Berlin from 2017 to 2020, was particularly impressive in Athens' attack. The Greeks led by four goals for the first time in the 24th minute (11:7).

The tide turned as the game progressed. Ilija Brozovic tied the scores at 17:17 in the 38th minute and Branko Vujovic put the home side back in front for the first time after going 1:0 ahead at 20:19 in the 41st minute. Athens now lost more and more of its strength and the team of TSV's Head Coach Christian Prokop celebrated an unchallenged victory.

TSV Hannover-Burgdorf's success in the European League continues, as they not only remain unbeaten in Group B but also clinched a victory against AEK Athens in their handball match. With a score of 31:25, Tsv Hannover-Burgdorf, a renowned handball team from Hanover, Germany, advanced further in the European League's preliminary round.
