Hanover's handball team loses points in the European League
Bundesliga handball team TSV Hannover-Burgdorf has suffered its first loss of points in the preliminary round of the European League. The club from Lower Saxony only managed a 30:30 (14:14) win against HC Kriens-Luzern from Switzerland on Tuesday.
The outstanding player in the game was Andy Schmid from Lucerne. The former professional of the Rhein-Neckar Löwen not only scored 14 goals, but also impressed with his strong passing. Maximilian Gerbl and Vincent Büchner each scored five times for the hosts, who led 24:22 in the 49th minute.
However, Christian Prokop's team had already qualified for the main round, in which they will face the Rhein-Neckar Löwen, among others, in the new year. On the final matchday on December 5, they will play Gornik Zabrze in Poland for first place in Group B.
TSV Hannover-Burgdorf's handball struggle extended beyond the Bundesliga, as they also experienced their first loss of points in the European League. Despite this setback, they had already secured a spot in the main round of the European League, where they will compete against teams like Rhein-Neckar Löwen in the new year.
