2nd league - Hannover 96 wins test match against third division team SC Verl
Hannover 96 passed the toughest test in the preparation for the upcoming season in the 2. Football Bundesliga with a 2:1 (0:0) win against third-division team SC Verl in Eilenriedestadion, Hannover. Nicolo Tresoldi (50.) and ex-national player Marcel Halstenberg (56.) scored for the home team. SC Verl equalized through Dominik Stecyk (52).
"For me, the result is secondary, what's important is that the boys are moving in the spaces where we want to play," said Hannover 96 coach Stefan Leitl after the game. "That they couldn't fully impose themselves is also due to the fact that the freshness wasn't quite there. Nevertheless, it was all good."
It was the third test game for their team in the pre-season. Previously, they had defeated the underclass teams of SC Hemmingen-Westerfeld (8:1) and SV Ramlingen/Ehlershausen (3:0). The 2. Football Bundesliga season starts on the weekend of 2. to 4. August.
