Handball players test twice against Portugal ahead of home European Championships

Germany's handball players will play two more test matches immediately before the home European Championship in January. As the German Handball Federation (DHB) announced on Thursday, the team of national coach Alfred Gislason will face Portugal on January 4 in Flensburg and on January 6 in Kiel. "Portugal is one of the most exciting teams in Europe. They will be tough challenges in Flensburg and Kiel - just right before the European Championship," said Gislason.

The home European Championship will take place from January 10 to 28. The DHB team led by captain Johannes Golla will face Switzerland in the opening match in Düsseldorf. Over 50,000 tickets have been sold for this match.
