The 42-year-old wanted to clean the ink rollers of the machine in Mertingen (Donau-Ries district) on Tuesday. He started the cleaning program and got his hand and a cleaning cloth caught between the rollers. He was flown to a hospital for examination.
The unfortunate incident at the paper processing company could lead to stricter safety protocols during machinery maintenance. Despite the accidents at work, the resilient worker is determined to recover and return to his job.
