Bundeswehr Day Celebrated - Hamburg University and Rostock Navy collaborate.
The German armed forces, Bundeswehr, will offer a peek into their operations at nine sites across the country on Saturday. This event, known as the "Day of the Bundeswehr," is an opportunity for citizens to see what happens in the barracks. With the ongoing war in Ukraine causing much concern, experts will address military equipment, challenges, and other related matters.
Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) will deliver a speech at noon (11:50 am) at the Lower Saxony airbase in Faßberg, which can be streamed online as well. In Hamburg, the Helmut-Schmidt-University is taking part in the Day of the Bundeswehr, while Rostock's Marine Base Hohe Düne is also involved. In Jenfeld, the Bundeswehr University will showcase countermeasures for mass destruction weapons, military self-defense, and maritime shipping.
One highlight at this university will be the unveiling of anti-drone defense systems. Security policy discussions will be presented by experts. At around 5:15 pm, a promotion ceremony is scheduled for approximately 400 officer candidates.
In Rostock-Warnemünde, people can visit marine vessels. Entertainment for the day includes presentations by marine divers, the Flugabwehrraketengruppe 21 from Sanitz, and a helicopter demonstration.
