Basketball - Hamburg Towers terminate contract with Lukas Meisner

Basketball-Bundesligist Veolia Towers Hamburg has terminated the contract with four-time German national team player Lukas Meisner. The club announced this on Wednesday. Meisner, who is 28 years old, does not play a role in Trainer Benka Barlošky's plans for the 2024/25 season. The contract was terminated prematurely to facilitate a transfer for Meisner.

Meisner joined the Towers from Basketball Löwen Braunschweig in 2021. In the past three years, the forward made 155 appearances for the Hanseaten. The new club for the professional is not yet known.

"He has always put himself at the service of the team. However, it has not worked out for us to push the development, as desired by both sides, in our cooperation recently. Therefore, we have decided to terminate the contract at this point prematurely," said Towers business manager Marvin Willoughby.
