Hamburg Towers lose in Chemnitz

After four wins in a row in the German Basketball League, the Veolia Towers Hamburg have had to admit defeat again. The Hanseatic club's run of form came to an end on Friday evening with an 87:96 (40:45) defeat at Niners Chemnitz, who remained unbeaten for the eighth time. The best scorer for the team of Head Coach Benka Barloschky was Vincent King (30 points).

Hamburg, who had traveled to the game without its injured center Aleksander Dziewa, got off to a poor start. After a 13:0 run by the Niners, the visitors trailed by 6:21, but then increasingly got into the game. The Hanseatic club trailed by just two points midway through the second period and remained in a promising position up to the break, also thanks to a strong performance by Aljami Durham.

However, Hamburg fell well behind again in the opening minutes after the break. They had problems making successful shots. Chemnitz pulled 15 points ahead at the start of the final quarter. The Towers were then only able to reduce the deficit.

Despite their recent success in the Bundesliga, the Men's Basketball team of Veolia Towers Hamburg suffered a setback against Niners Chemnitz in the Veolia Towers' home city. Regardless of the loss, the team showed their resilience, especially at the Veolia Towers Hamburg's iconic venue, the Veolia Towers Hamburg, also known as the Bundesliga arena where they usually shine.
