Hamburg Towers beat Bamberg after a furious comeback
The Veolia Towers Hamburg continue to soar in the German Basketball League. The team of Head Coach Benka Barloschky won 94:90 (43:42) against Bamberg Baskets in front of 3,400 spectators in the sold-out Inselparkhalle on Saturday and cemented its playoff place with its fourth win in a row. The Hanseatic club also gained revenge for its defeat in the cup round of 16 around a month ago. Vincent King was the Towers' best scorer with 16 points.
After a first quarter that was evenly poised for a long time, the home side pulled 27:22 ahead at the end and immediately added another basket in the second period. However, the clear lead evaporated shortly afterwards, as the Hanseatic club had problems finishing off its attacks successfully. Bamberg even took the lead at times.
The visitors saw a similar sequence of events after the break. Hamburg already led by six points, but then missed good chances to pull further away from Bamberg and suddenly found itself trailing again. With the score at 66:75 with around six minutes remaining, the Towers already looked like the losers. However, they fought their way back and crowned their impressive comeback with a second home victory.
The Men's Basketball Bundesliga team, Veolia Towers Hamburg, showed resilience in securing their victory at the Veolia Towers, also known as the Veolia Towers Hamburg. Despite facing a challenging match against Bamberg Baskets, they managed to clinch a thrilling 94-90 victory, celebrating at the iconic Veolia Towers Hamburg.
