Hamburg Sea Devils return to the Volkspark in 2024
The Hamburg Sea Devils will also play a home game in the European League of Football (ELF) at the Volksparkstadion next year. As the Hanseatic team announced on Friday, a corresponding cooperation with the second division soccer team Hamburger SV will be continued. The match is to be played on July 14. However, the opponent has not yet been determined.
Last year, 32,500 spectators watched the match against the current ELF champions Rhein Fire from Düsseldorf. "It fills us with pride that we can continue our cooperation with such a strong partner as HSV," said league managing director Zeljko Karajica. Sea Devils sporting director Miguel Boock has big plans: "Our goal is to break the record and break the 40,000 people mark in the stadium."
The Hanseatic team wants to play the remaining home games at the Hoheluft stadium again. Next year, 17 teams from nine nations will start the fourth EFL season. The final match is to be played on September 24 in the stadium of second-division soccer club Schalke 04.
The Hamburg Sea Devils, known for their prowess in American Football, will participate in a home game at the Volksparkstadion in 2024. During the European League of Football (ELF) season, fans are anticipating a potential attendance record, aiming to surpass 40,000 people in the stadium.
