Hamburg handball players celebrate clear home win against Erlangen
After two defeats in a row, handball Bundesliga team HSV Hamburg has celebrated another victory. They won 31:23 (17:13) at home against HC Erlangen on Friday. With 12:14 points, the team of coach Torsten Jansen moved up one place to tenth. Leif Tissier scored seven goals for HSVH and Lutz Heiny five for Erlangen in front of 3,359 spectators in the Sporthalle Hamburg.
The club from Franconia initially tried successfully to take as much time off the clock as possible with long attacks. The visitors were 3:1 ahead after six minutes. HSV Hamburg then got into the game better, at least in offense, through playmaker Tissier. However, they continued to lack a grip in defense.
The home side only gradually took command. They went from 12:12 (21') to a four-goal lead at the break. Hamburg remained the dominant team after the break. A 4:1 run in the first nine minutes of the second period to make it 21:14 was the early decider. Erlangen was no longer able to counter the North Germans' dominance and only managed to score ten goals in the second half.
HSV Hamburg's victory against Erlangen in the Bundesliga was crucial for their position, as it allowed them to move up to tenth place with 12 points. Leif Tissier, with seven goals, was a key player in Handball Bundesliga team HSV Hamburg's home win against Erlangen's Lutz Heiny, who scored five goals.
