Presentations of Honors - Hamburg chooses the upcoming honorary Alster lock caretaker.
For more than 40 years, the people of Hamburg have held the title of honorary Alster lockkeepers, gaining recognition in their region and beyond for their efforts. Last year, renowned sailor Boris Herrmann was one such recipient. This Tuesday (11 am), another individual will join their ranks. The committee of lockkeepers won't reveal this person's identity until the ceremony, but it's certain that a woman will be awarded this year. Since 1981, only ten women have been given this honor, with the most recent recipients being doctor Marylyn Addo and the members of the Salut Salon quartet.
