Consequences of severe weather - Hamburg - Bremen railroad line slowly passable again

The railway line between Hamburg and Bremen is again drivable at slower speeds following a track closure due to weather damage. Traffic resumed in the early morning hours of Friday, as a spokesperson for the train company announced.

At Tostedt (Harburg district), heavy rain flooded the tracks on Thursday. The line is now drivable again, but only at slower speeds, the spokesperson said. This resulted in approximately 15-minute delays. It remains unclear when normal operations will resume.

The disruption in the train route between Hamburg and Bremen was due to severe weather in Northern Germany, specifically in Lower Saxony, where Tostedt is located. The heavy rain caused flooding on the railroad, leading to the temporary closure of the railroad line. The storm severely impacted the traffic, causing delays and forcing the train company to operate at slower speeds. The consequence of the weather disturbance affected not only Hamburg and Bremen but also other areas along the railroad line, such as Tostedt. The blocking of the railroad has been resolved, and service has resumed, albeit at a reduced speed, causing minor delays of around 15 minutes for commuters.
