Prior to the beginning of the UEFA European Championship, the Hamburg Police carried out an extensive search of the Volksparkstadion. Numerous officers participated in the early morning operation, as per a statement shared with the German Press Agency upon request. The operation concluded in the afternoon.

The search squads scanned the whole stadium for potentially hazardous items. The spokesperson mentioned that, in addition to them, the Criminal Investigation Department's sweepers and police dogs were in action. The authorities also employed drones. However, no harmful objects were discovered during the search.

Following the operation, the police passed on the responsibility of the stadium to the EM organizers, who are responsible for security during the tournament. For the final leg of the competition, the Hamburg Police will be stationed with significant presence around the stadium, Fan Zone, and the city center.
