Hamas: More than 60 dead since the end of the ceasefire

The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas brokered by Qatar, Egypt and the USA expired after a week on Friday morning and the fighting began again immediately.

On 7 October, hundreds of fighters from Hamas, classified as a terrorist organization by the USA and the EU, entered Israel and committed atrocities, mainly against civilians. According to Israeli reports, around 1,200 people were killed in Israel and around 240 people were taken hostage in the Gaza Strip.

In response,Israel massively bombarded targets in the Gaza Strip from the air and on the ground for weeks. According to Hamas, which cannot be independently verified, more than 15,000 people have been killed in the Palestinian territory since then.

During the ceasefire, a total of around one hundred Hamas hostages were released, including several German-Israelis. In return, 240 Palestinians were released from Israeli prisons.
