Hamann doesn't need a debate with Tuchel: "Closeness is bad"
In his dispute with Thomas Tuchel, former Germany international Dietmar Hamann does not attach any importance to a personal discussion with the Bayern soccer coach. The 50-year-old referred to the statement by Tuchel, who had said in the dispute with Hamann and record international Lothar Matthäus about a possible discussion that he does not normally meet with TV experts in person. "I see it similarly. Closeness is bad and not conducive," said the former Bayern professional Hamann on the Sky90 program.
After FC Bayern's 4-0 win in the Bundesliga top match at Borussia Dortmund, Tuchel had reacted irritably to the previous criticism from experts Hamann and Matthäus. The 50-year-old had engaged in a verbal duel with Matthäus and presenter Sebastian Hellmann in an interview on Sky TV. The day after, when asked about a possible debate on Bild TV, he said: "I have enough to do in my job."
According to Hamann, he knows Tuchel from their time together in youth teams, but has not had any personal contact with the coach for a long time. "I would have no problem having a coffee with him, but if not, that's fine," said Hamann. Personally, he has no problem with Tuchel. "I really appreciate him, he has a good sense of humor."
Despite FC Bayern's victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, the tension between former Germany international Dietmar Hamann and coach Thomas Tuchel persists. Hamann, a former Borussia Dortmund player, lauded Tuchel's sense of humor and expressed his openness to having a coffee with the Bayern coach, despite not having a personal conversation with him for a while in the context of Bundesliga rivalry between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
