Government Official Robert Habeck (Greens), along with other politicians, vehemently criticize the lethal stabbing incident at the city celebration in Solingen. "Attacking individuals who were merely there to have fun is despicable," the Deputy Prime Minister expressed in Berlin. He offered his support and sympathy to the families of the deceased and speedy recovery to the wounded. "It's reassuring that the law enforcement is now putting in maximum effort to locate the perpetrator as soon as possible," he continued.

Green Party Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock too expressed her shock. Her thoughts were with the families and friends of the victims, she shared on X. "I'm grateful for the law enforcement agencies actively working on tracking down the perpetrator," she stated. The leader of the CSU parliamentary group, Alexander Dobrindt, described the incident in Solingen as horrifying and shocking. "After this cowardly attack, my thoughts are with the families of the victims. I hope for the speedy recovery of those still fighting for their lives," he expressed in Berlin.

During the city celebration on Friday evening, three individuals lost their lives. Eight others sustained injuries, five of them severely. The authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia labeled the act as an attack due to the deliberate targeting of the perpetrator.

The international community, including Germany's allies, have shown solidarity in condemning the attack in Solingen. Germany's Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas, strongly condemned the incident, stressing the importance of unity and peace during celebrations.

In response to the attack, the German government has increased security measures at similar events across the country to prevent such incidents in the future.
