- "GZSZ" star talks about the spartan mother
"Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" actress Maria Wedig has a teenage daughter and a baby. She finds it challenging at times, but also enriching, as she told RTL at the end of her maternity leave.
"Let's not beat around the bush," said the 40-year-old in the interview. "It's very demanding. I'm not saying it's not with two small children, but with the interests and demands of my children being so different, it's tough to balance both."
Wedig explained: "It's hard sometimes not to give my daughter the attention she deserves. Young children don't remember the turbulent time when a new sibling arrives, but my daughter is very aware of it. But like everything in life, it's a phase that will pass. We've also become quite creative in using every small window of time for ourselves."
The actress who plays "GZSZ" character Nina Klee is currently enjoying her last vacation before returning to set. "Time flies so fast, and even though I'm aware of it, I'm surprised how quickly this baby year has passed. It was a year full of wonderful moments, exciting chaos, exhausting moments, and lots of happiness."
She will be back in front of the camera in September and will be seen on screen in the daily soap in the fall, she said. "I'm very excited and a bit nervous, I must admit. But like everything in life, it'll take some time to find my rhythm, and then it's like it never changed." She doesn't know yet how her role as Nina will progress in the series. "I'll let myself be surprised when I get the new scripts soon."
